With me as its master--

[Foster is clutching at his own face sideways, the paw that isn't holding his radio pressed across his nose and eyes and mushrooms in some kind of thinking contortion.]

I... would know? I would know. I think.

[Even Foster realises (somewhat belatedly) that's not the most helpful response, and he launches into a... surprisingly coherent tirade?

Maybe.

Necromancy--animating, raising--is controlled not just by magic and mechanism but by force of the will.

With a soul--raising--the bird, I was... mmm. You can have the body whether or not you bind the soul.

I did bind the soul to it, so what results is an independent will, but one still bid by my will. The soul is only momentum.

Do you understand?

It does not inhabit my mind. But my mind is part of it.

[....not like he has any mind to spare.]

So if it were to be destroyed, I should know. But if I am killed, its existence would cease.

[Just a dead bird. Possibly dead with its soul stuck to its body... it's complicated.]
