DESCRIPTION: Half the time he forgets this thing even exists, or how to turn it on and off.
DESCRIPTION: The concept of a mailbox is rather foreign to Lambert, who's not exactly what you'd call big on personal correspondence. But there's a wooden crate you can probably drop shit into ???
BUG LAMBERT TO MAKE YOU SHIT: Given time and the right ingredients (which he'll usually ask people to provide) he can make potions (with potential side effects), oils, and bombs. You can bother him more about that in person.

[Foster actually sounds troubled--there's a pause because he's concentrating, no longer trusting his memory and so retesting the Sparrow Channel.
But it seems that this time, his memory actually served.]
No. I'm not.... I can't tell that.
[He doesn't bother to assure Lambert that he'll keep the Night Rider in the loop. Partially because he's distracted, sure, but also because, frankly, he hasn't decided whether he will or not yet.
Which is where his own angle comes in.]
.... but if you're doing something about this, I have a suggestion.

[ He's got a feeling he doesn't like where this is going to go. ]

[No fanfare, no introduction: to Foster, this conclusion was obvious.]
I'm expendable!
And I have a couple of mice--which I have plans for, but don't worry about that. So if I... mmm. Go missing, they can answer some of the questions the bird cannot.
All I'd have to do is leave them behind.

[ Like, he just wants to be super clear about that. ]

[And then he just... launches into his explanation.
Knowledge is power, right?]
Assuming I'm conscious, I can call my... mice... back. With any luck, they can lead you at least part of the way. If not, you'll know something... something more complex is going on. I'll, uh, make sure you can order them back to me too. Just in case. And if I'm dead... hahahaha!
You'll know that too.
But it's up to you.
[A small pause.]
What do you have to lose?
no subject
[ Like, they've got a comatose human on this end, and Sans can't just teleport back. 'Something complex' is probably a given already. The question is, how can they work with that...
... But Foster said mice. ]
Would your mice trip any of the magic that locks the doors around here? Can you order them to places we can't get to?
no subject
[There is a lengthy pause. But if Foster is disappointed--or pleased--it isn't reflected in his voice.]
...I doubt they'd trigger anything. They're just animates, not raised dead--there's not even a soul in them.
[That's the price you pay when you kill mice four days ago and carry them around in your pockets.]
I can order them anywhere I please.
[Okay, that was a little smug.]
no subject
Good. Can you do that without leaving your room?
no subject
[Still sounds pretty smug. Possibly smugger.
Though as far as ideas go, Lambert's is... fairly predictable and kind of boring. But not actually bad. He'd just assumed that Lambert already had someone who could do that kind of thing some other way.
The fact that he doesn't...
Well, that probably isn't Lambert's fault, so it doesn't matter. He's useful, and Lambert is making use of him.
He couldn't ask for anything more.]
no subject
All right.
See if they can get into the basement or the kitchens tonight. Follow the servants -- they have to have a way to get in and out. If they find one, I'll have them lead one of the nightrunners.
[ If they get caught, no harm no foul, right? ]
no subject
......I'll keep you posted.
[Don't worry. He's quite sincere.]
